Catherine and Chris met several years ago while working outside Chicago. Catherine hosted classes and Chris was the Assistant Director of Rooms at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare. Catherine was head over heels from the moment she laid eyes on him. However, timing was not on their side. Over the next 4 years, they dated on again and off again while their jobs with Hyatt moved them around over 5 cities. And then, after years of being apart, they both received promotions that moved them to Chicago permanently. Within three weeks they had both moved back to the Land of Lincoln and their on again off again stayed on.
One Day Catherine was in Kansas City opening a new hotel, and Chris called to tell her that work was sending him to London for a week. He asked if she wanted to join. Catherines family is from Cardiff and so London held a very special place in her heart. She decided to join him for the weekend and took a red eye flight to get there.
After a long romantic day together, Chris proposed in front of Buckingham palace and the two spent the next few days in that “Just engaged” bliss!
The pair decided on a destination wedding, and of course chose to get married at a Hyatt.
After some searching they decided to get married at one of our favorite locations, The Hyatt Tamaya here in New Mexico.
The gray bridesmaids dresses were the perfect hue for the pink and peach flowers that decorated the day. The men wore navy suits with silver accessories to add bit of that modern feel to a classic wedding.
After their ceremony we took Catherine and Chris to some of our favorite parts of the venue. The cottonwoods along the Rio Grande, a view of our famous Sandia Mountains, and then a quick ride into the gorgeous desert mesas.
We truly believe that Catherine and Chris chose the best place to have their destination wedding!
