Alexa + Daniel | A Greek Wedding in Albuquerque | Albuquerque Wedding Photographers

Alexa + Daniel were truly meant to be, (obviously their last names literally mean “Silver” and “Gold.”) But the two also had such love in their eyes for each other their entire wedding day.

Alexa and Daniel met while they were both in pharmacy school. After sitting together in class the two clicked and became study buddies which led to fro-yo and happy hour dates. Upon graduation and starting their new jobs, the couple rarely had a day off together. Once they finally did, they took the opportunity to have a fun date night in Santa fe complete with a beautiful evening at the Santa fe Opera. It was that night that Daniel got down on TWO knees and asked Alexa to be his wife.

The wedding had so many sentimental touches from all the greek traditions, to the dried rose petals tossed for their grand exit that came from Alexa’s parents garden. The duo chose a dusty lavender with touches of marble, and of course, silver and gold as their color scheme. They custom designed their wedding bands at Lily Barrack, which featured beautiful turquoise stones and diamonds from Alexa’s grandmothers ring. The ceremony took place at the Greek Church in downtown Albuquerque, complete with unique traditions that we enjoyed capturing for the first time.

At the reception, Alexa + Daniel hired Black Swan to deck out their ballroom. Sequined table cloths were decorated with beautiful succulent floral arrangements and candles. Custom menus were laid on each plate with marble escort cards. Perhaps our favorite touch was the arbor over the sweetheart table draped in greenery and Edison bulb lights. Guests danced the night away laughing and cheering as they did the traditional Sirtaki, a greek wedding dance.
