Andie and Terry decided they wanted to do a destination wedding and chose the beautiful mountains of Santa Fe for where they would say I do. The couple are avid hikers and explorers, so it just seemed like the perfect fit. They discovered the beautiful mountainside venue, Four Season’s Rancho Encantado, picked a winter month and prayed for snow.
Santa Fe was hit with a pretty big snow storm the week of the wedding, and on their wedding day, more snow and rain threatened to appear. Terry and Andie could not have been more relaxed about the potential storm, and were just so happy to be surrounded by their loved ones. The storm never came, and the result was the most breathtaking sunset we have ever seen. Prior to sunset photos, the couple walked hand in hand amongst the snow covered paths with the beautiful Sangre de Cristo mountain range in the background. Andie wore a stunning Anne Barge gown and held an organic and whimsical bouquet full of protea, peonies and even a large mushroom! We loved that the color of her blue velvet shoes matched the dusty blue of the mountains perfectly! Terry donned a custom made suit, with the most beautiful lining of waves, a nod to one of his favorite outdoor activities, surfing.
The ceremony was intimate and beautiful, with fire pits to keep guests warm and a dainty floral arbor overlooking the mountain views. The reception had so many personal touches made by the couple as well. Terry handmade all of the succulent boxes at cocktail hour in his workshop, and Andie made the escort card holders from scraps left over. Guests found their seats with beautiful Spanish tiles, while adobe tiles were used as menus at the bar for specialty cocktails. The entire room was just draped in candles and velvet, the napkins even matching Andie’s shoes! In lieu of a cake the couple had the Churro Bar come and make handmade churros for their guests, which were delicious! Guests mingled inside and out, with farolitos lit on the patio and comfy lounge furniture to sip cocktails on.
I have to say, Andie and Terry were probably one of the most kind and generous couples I have ever had the pleasure of working with. They are truly selfless people and I feel so lucky to not only have met them, but also to have been chosen to capture their day. Thank you Andie and Terry, I wish you so many years of happiness and adventures!
