Melinda + Mateo | A Santa Fe Engagement Session

Melinda and Matteo met as hotshot firefighters, and as fate would have it, they were thrown together on the same crew. I guess you could say that there were sparks. For their first date they decided to hike Wheelers Peak in Taos, and that would become only the first of many adventures together.

Eventually these two flames became more serious and Mateo knew it was time to propose. Unfortunately, Melinda’s father had just been diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer. Mateo knew this wasn’t the right time, so he waited. After supporting Melinda through a traumatic event, things settled down and Melinda’s father was doing much better.

Mateo asked Melinda’s father for his blessing.

On a hike mirroring their first date, Mateo got down on one knee and asked Melinda a long awaited question. The two were finally engaged!

Living behind the Santa Fe railyards, the two spend a good majority of time there. Naturally, they chose to have their second home incorporated into their engagement session. They finished their session with a small hike to overlook the city they loved, while surrounded by the nature they’ve worked so hard to protect.

We can’t wait to Celebrate their marriage next month!
