Katie and Ian were wed last Friday in the stunning southern Missouri city of Branson. We’ve known Katie for years, having shot her maternity pictures, a couple family sessions with her adorable daughter Mia (the most recent, super glowy one you can view here), and of course she and Ian’s incredible engagement photos (which you can also see here), so we were so excited to be with her on her wedding day! Having bonded with this pair over their e-sesh and most recent family portraits, we can say that we hands-down love this couple! Katie’s personality absolutely sparkles, and we love how Ian can so easily balance making her laugh, while simultaneously making Mia glow with glee.
Originally Maura was intending to shoot this wedding, as she has such an established relationship with the bride, but she ended up being booked on the pair’s date, so Sarah and Hannah travelled to this midwestern-southern state to capture all the rustic-with-touches-of-classical goodness! There were small, wooden logs used as decorations on the stairs and head table to pay homage to the woodsy venue, while the delicate candles and greenery elevated it to reflect the modern feel that the venue also possessed. Katie’s colors were plum and lavender, with the maid of honor wearing a beautiful mauve quartz, and Mia in a soft pink. We loved how she tied in the girliness with the slight country touches!
To start the day, the girls got ready at the Hilton in downtown Branson, then everybody drove to the Atrium Event Center. The view from the ceremony location was positively draw-jopping, (and we don’t say that easily coming from the Land of Enchantment!), and the inside reception space was so incredibly unique! The high architecture, geometric windows, and all white interior photographed so cleanly and prettily. They ended the night with dances— including Ian’s dance to Katie in order to “earn” her garter for the garter toss— which was so fun and had everyone, especially Katie and Ian, laughing!— under the gorgeous twinkle lights strung all throughout the room.
We were so delighted to see these two married, and it was such an honor to witness the pure love they radiated for each other throughout the whole day. Congratulations, and we wish you a lifetime of happiness!
