La Posada Santa Fe | Asian Inspired Wedding | Carly and Chris

While Carly and Chris attended the same college, they didn’t begin dating until post-graduation, when they were living in Dallas and belonged to the same group of friends. They later hiked the Atalaya mountain with their precious Goldendoodle, Phife, and Chris scouted the perfect spot to propose. The next day, they returned to hike it again. When they came back down the mountain, Carly had a ring on her finger!

Because the pair wanted to focus on enjoying their family, guests, and special day to the fullest, we met Carly and Chris to do a first look and couple’s portraits before their actual wedding back in May. An excuse for an extra photoshoot? Yes please! We were also incredibly pleased to meet Phife during the shoot, as we absolutely adore when couples involve their furbabies. And we just died over how cute the pictures with him came out!

The couple made quite the entrance to their ceremony in a vintage Mercedes. The ceremony was held in the famous Loretto Chapel, which provided a lovely backdrop for some quick pictures. When Mercedes was brought back after they finished, it turned into an even bigger photoshoot as tourists swarmed to grab their own snaps of the radiant couple and classic car.

The reception took place at La Posada, and the tent they set up only became more and more stunning as the sun set! A Beautiful Theme decked out the head table with the help of the fantastically talented Floriography, and the result was too gorgeous for words! The flower arrangements were also used as centerpieces for the other tables as well. They were placed in Asian vases that the couple have been collecting for precisely this purpose. What’s more, some were even borrowed from their families’ personal collections, which gave it an even more intimate touch.

Some of our personal favorite details were the involvement of Rosita, a tequila donkey; how the bouquets and boutonnieres were all unique from each other; and the heavy involvement of Phife. From getting ready to the ceremony, and from prancing around the reception to the design of the cake, Phife was included in every part of the day! Not only was he Carly’s best accessory, but he was also hands down our favorite cake topper to date!
