Santa Fe Wedding at La Fonda | Stephanie + Ben

Stephanie, a Santa Fe native, and Ben, from Overland Park in Kansas, originally met in a pretty unusual way for this day and age: a blind date. They were introduced the old fashioned way by a patient of Stephanie’s who happened to be a good friend of Ben’s… and the rest is history! He proposed in Stephanie’s favorite scenic spot in northern New Mexico, and then he followed it up by a surprise family picnic in the mountains. Now, they live in Dallas together, have a beautiful little girl named Ava, and love to ski, hike, and explore new places.

We started off their big day by meeting Stephanie in the Bridal Suite at La Fonda on the Plaza, making sure to capture all her pretty details and fun getting ready photos. Then we migrated across the street for the ceremony at St. Francis Cathedral Basilica, where Ben’s eyes absolutely lit up when he saw his bride walking through the large church doors down the aisle toward him. Afterwards, we were just able to capture family photos and bridal portraits… before a downpour absolutely let loose. With the planner and DJ being positively amazing, we were able to rearrange the reception so that we could sneak the newlyweds away here and there for more than just sunset pictures, being as the weather had denied them their original allotted time for couple’s portraits. They ended the night by taking the dance floor by storm (pun intended), with their daughter, Ava, being the adorable star of the show!
