Amanda + Cody | A Rustic Wedding in Placitas, NM

Cody and Amanda met through their sisters. The two were best friends and Cody and Amanda were destined to meet eventually, and they’ve been a part of each others lives since. They went from school friends, to high school sweethearts, and now, Husband and Wife.

On Amanda’s birthday, she was rushing him because he had got home from work a little late, and they were supposed to go to eat with her parents. So just before they walked out the door he called their sweet dogs over and asked her to marry him. It was very low-key, and very them, Amanda explains. Of course she said yes and and the two began planning for their dream day!Cody and Amanda included so many personal touches and chose places close to their heart to get married on their wedding day. The church they were married in, Amanda has been going to her entire life. It only made sense to hold just one more important life event there. Their reception took place at a horse sanctuary next door to her family home. Amanda recalls being in love with the old buildings her whole life, and knew she wanted her wedding to take place where she always felt so happy. Amanda wore her late grandmothers wedding ring as her something borrowed, a family heirloom her mother passed to her on her wedding day. The couple took pictures in front of Cody’s turquoise Chevy truck given to him from his grandpa. We just loved the amount of sentiment and thoughtfulness that Amanda poured in to her day.

Everyone, from the family, to the bridal party, was dripping in kindness. Everyone was polite and considerate, and a true example of southern charm. We loved being around such great people, and can see how Cody and Amanda grew up to be such thoughtful, loving people. Their wedding day was nothing short of lovely, and it was an honor to be a part of it.
