We’ve been counting down the days to Anahi and Elliott’s wedding, as we not only knew she would have the prettiest, most intricate details, but also because Elliott is Sara’s— our former office-girl extraordinaire and professional dress-fluffer— brother. We also knew it would be the perfect time for Santa Fe’s blossoms, making for the most delicate and stunning spring wedding photos this pair could dream of!
Due to COVID’s restrictions and limiting factors, this sweet couple couldn’t have most of their family there, and scaled down their wedding to a “minimony,” which is the little, more private sibling of the current trend that is microweddings. With only their parents, Anahi’s little sister, and the officiants in attendance, this pair exchanged their “I do’s” in the backyard of an adorable Santa Fe Airbnb.
Besides the blossoms that we were thrilled to shoot for obvious reasons (hint: the gorgeousness!!), we were absolutely dying over the details and, of course, the colors! Typically, our brides choose dusty pink or blue for their wedding accents— and don’t get us wrong, we love those weddings and attract those brides for good reason!— but it was such a fun change to shoot a wedding with so many pops of color! From the mustards to the corals to the fuchsias, we were in awe the entire time. And don’t get us started on the Icelandic poppies in her bouquet… because we won’t stop!
Beyond how beautiful the details were, we love the thought that went into them even more. These two love comics, (read more on their story here and see how they adorably incorporated this theme into their engagement session as well), and involved their hobby in cute little ways: their invitations, the getting ready photo of Anahi reading a comic, Elliott’s “Venom” comic that matched his cologne, and their cake toppers that were custom Funko Pop figures of the two of them. Furthermore, Elliott’s tie, along with their husky’s bandana (both courtesy of Kind Design), had the topography of where Elliott proposed to Anahi: the couple’s favorite haunt, the Kosmos Astro Pub.
We were incredibly touched to be present for the quite emotional and intimate ceremony of this pair, and the day felt more like we were simply behind the scenes documenting close friends rather than just “working a wedding.” We wish them a gigantic congratulations and the utmost happiness in the years to come!
