Our Favorite New Mexico Ceremony Locations

As we slide into our slower season, we have the opportunity to work on blogs that aren’t strictly weddings or engagements, and we thus have the ability to get a little more creative. With couples still getting engaged and already engaged couples still determined to get married— because a pandemic just can’t stop love— we decided it would be the perfect time to share our favorite ceremony locations… along with ways to make your ceremony location sentimental and personal!

Our Favorite Venue Ceremony Spots

.: Los Poblanos :.

While they are no longer taking large weddings, Los Poblanos is still allowing intimate weddings and elopements, and we are so thankful… what would we do if we lost our absolute favorite venue altogether?! This gem of Albuquerque offers fields of lavender, gardens, tall trees with lush greenery, and gorgeous architecture. There’s no shortage of ceremony spots, or places for photos, so it’s easy to see why we will always highly recommend LP!

.: Casa Rondena :.

Casa Rodena is a unique venue here in Albuquerque due to it’s Tuscan architecture and European vibes. Who knew you could get stunning vineyard photos in the middle of the desert?! They have a few different spots where they set up ceremonies, and each one is as amazing as the next.

.: Hotel Albuquerque :.

Continuing with the lush greenery theme, Hotel Albuquerque has a breathtaking wisteria arbor under which you and your love can tie the knot. The columns of which the wedding party is positioned in front of adds elegance to the ceremony, and the crystal chandeliers offer additional class.

.: Casa Perea :.

Casa Perea is a smaller venue with an arbor full of trumpet vines with more visual hints at its New Mexican heritage. The arbor, lawn, and vineyard itself make for not only beautiful couples portraits, but ceremony spots as well.

.: Hyatt Regency :.

Located downtown, this is a great option if you’re looking for an indoor ceremony space in Albuquerque. We love how the room is all white, making it perfectly customizable and very chic.

.: La Fonda :.

La Fonda’s terrace is one the most stunning ceremony spots that you’ll find in the heart of Santa Fe. It overlooks the downtown area, giving you and your guests the most optimal view of the mountains and lovely Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi, especially at sunset! (Just look at how pink the church turns!)

.: Hacienda Dona Andrea :.

Hacienda Dona Andrea is located a little ways outside Santa Fe, bringing not only traditional Southwestern beauty, but also some privacy for you and your guests. With a stunning almost 360 degree view of the mountains, it’s more than just a breathtaking backdrop for photos during your ceremony— it’s something for you to thoroughly enjoy even after the wedding is over!

.: Four Seasons Santa Fe :.

The terrace at the Four Seasons Santa Fe offers simply amazing views of the mountains in the distance, (not to mention that it’s nestled in the foothills of more gorgeous mountains itself), and is the perfect place to enjoy our incredible New Mexican sunsets.

.: Eldorado Hotel & Spa :.

Eldorado Hotel offers another indoor ceremony option in lieu of a church. It too has a stark white room, except they takes it a step farther by adding the detailed golden backdrop. The setting is incredibly elegant, and looks great with all kinds of color palettes— unless maybe you’re going for a silver theme.

Off The Beaten Path

Elopements & Picking Sentimental Ceremony Spots

While we love shooting at all of the aforementioned spots, we’re also really relishing the rising trend of choosing spots that are sentimental to the couple. It adds an extra layer of meaning to the ceremony, a feeling of extra specialness to the couple, and ties their love story together into a cute little bow! You won’t be able to copy them, but you can garner inspiration for your own spots! Take a look at some examples below:

.: 10k trail, Cedar Crest :.

Hannah and Derrick chose to say their “I do’s” on their favorite hiking trail, a spot where they spend a lot of time together with their two fur babies.

.: Lincoln, NM :.

This spot was sentimental to Lauren and Steven because the land had been in Steven’s family for over a century!

.: Ruidoso, NM :.

Caitlin and Cory decided to travel from Texas to have their wedding on her family’s ranch in New Mexico. Caitlin had grown up coming to the ranch, and it was a place that was near and dear to her heart, making it a sweet spot for this pair to have their ceremony.
