As so many beautiful relationships begin, Lauren and Steven’s began in high school. They started dating the summer before senior year after Steven pursued Lauren for several months. She decided to finally make it official that July and the rest as they say is history!
Fast forward to today, Lauren and Steven had planned for a fall wedding in Albuquerque. When the shutdown in March happened, they didn’t think that their wedding 7 months away would be effected, but as the date became closer and closer they realized the wedding they envisioned may not happen. After searching for several airbnb’s and private properties to host their day, they decided head to rural Lincoln, where Steven’s family owns beautiful land amongst the mountains. Once there, they realized this was where their day should happen. They knew they would be building a wedding venue from scratch, but they were determined to make it happen.
The result was nothing short of beautiful. The couple said I do under a wooden arch decorated with greenery and sunflowers surrounded by mountains, while their closest family and friends looked on. The party to follow under the white tent was full of laughter as the couple offered fall inspired drinks, yummy macarons and donuts, and of course yard games. Lauren, being a nurse, made sure that her wedding was socially distanced and that guests were given lots of hand sanitizer and asked to wear masks due to the current pandemic. This however didn’t effect the mood or joy of the day as everyone still had the best time celebrating the new Mr. and Mrs. Martinez.
Lauren and Steven, it has been so wonderful getting to know you both over the past couple years. We are so lucky to call you our friends and you both make the most beautiful couple. We can not wait to see where life takes you both and we wish you so many years of happiness.
