Earlier this month, we flew to Ohio to capture Lauren and Ben’s wedding. With the leaves just beginning to change, we were so excited to capture these two’s big day in a new place, especially one on grounds as beautiful as Gleneagles Golf Club’s!
Come the day of their wedding, the sun was shining gorgeously, and we couldn’t wait to document every inch of their day! One of our favorite details? Their invitations! We absolutely loved the blue and gold marbling and we were positively drooling over Lauren’s Bella Belle shoes. Furthermore, their cake topper was right up our alley! With their two doggos and their one kitty, the topper was an animal lover’s dream. The cake itself seemed simple and classic from faraway, but closer you could see all the gorgeous details of trees and mountains… and when the light hit it just the right way, the entire cake glittered fiercely, mimicking snow! It was a sweet little nod to where the couple met, Los Alamos New Mexico.
When it came to their couple’s portraits, there was no shortage of places to stick this sweet pair. One of our favorite spots was an angelically glowing field that looked so soft and romantic, with our other favorite spot being just in front of the pond on one of the course’s holes that looked out over all the cute little homes dotting the banks. Just magical!
These two met when Ben first walked into Lauren’s office as a new hire in Los Alamos’s National Labs. They shared the office for a few months, and Lauren soon discovered that the only way to keep Ben engaged in conversation was to talk about hunting or his dog. After a few weeks, she invited Russel (said doggo) and Ben on a hike, which ended up leading to more hikes and spending more time together. Down the road, it was on yet another hike… where Ben proposed! They were doing the Las Conchas Trailhead in the Jemez, and he’d been planning it for weeks upon weeks before she found out she had to work that day. He adjusted his plan though, and they woke up at 4:45am to drive into the mountains. After guiding her to the center island, he dropped down on one knee and popped the question. After she said “Yes!” he immediately stood up and found the hidden photographer he’d hired to capture the moment. So sweet!
It has been such a fun journey getting to know these two cuties, and we wish them all the happiness in the years to come!
