When Javier decided to leave Madrid, Spain to study abroad at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, he never expected to meet the love of his life, Alondra, in August of 2016. Alondra was late to class the day the seating chart would be fixed and found a seat next to Javi. Cupid’s arrow hit quickly. Javi then asked Alondra to go to a concert and the rest is history! Rather than one or the other person traveling to either Madrid or New Mexico to see each other, they would travel to a third destination all around the globe. Some of the places including Croatia, Puerto Vallarta, Mallorca and Morocco to name a few.
Alondra and Javier’s wedding was one for the books. They infused Alondra’s Mexican culture and Javier’s Spaniard culture into one stunning display of Hispanic unity and love. Alondra designed all of her own invitations and table numbers, drawing inspiration from all of the places that they have traveled to across the globe during their courtship, as well as from their Mexican and Spaniard cultures. Additionally, decorating for the wedding was a family affair, with Alondra and her family hand-crafting and hanging the gorgeous flower ceiling that graced the reception! The 20 x 20 foot hanging flower ceiling resulted in the mega project of wedding preparation composed of 1500 flowers and taking family and friends over 100 hours to complete!
For the wedding, Alondra wore Cameron’s silhouette and Barcelonian mantilla veil by Ukrainian designer, Milla Nova. Likewise, her beautiful heels were crafted by a local shoe shop in Madrid that took foam prints of her feet to custom make the perfect shoes for her wedding day. Directly after their beautiful ceremony, the couple celebrated by a confetti cannon exit out of the San Felipe de Neri Catholic Parish and serenaded by the mariachi band that led them in a wedding march around the plaza.
We could not be happier for these two and wish them all the best on their adventures in New York City, and around the globe!
