Caitlin & James | A Champagne-Worthy, Downtown Santa Fe Engagement Session

We met Caitlin and James in downtown Santa Fe’s Gruet tasting room, attached to the Hotel St. Francis. While enjoying a glass of champagne, we got to know this couple’s mischievous and fun-filled personalities! With their favorite hobbies including dining out and wine-tasting, we learned that they had fun while going out by telling the restaurant/hotel/winery/etc that it was their anniversary, or that they had just gotten engaged, and watching the subsequent events unfold… Not a bad hack for getting a free bottle of champagne or a room upgrade! Haha. They just made sure to stress not to do it too many times at places you’ve already done it… which is pretty good advice, if you ask us.

After finishing some champagne, we made sure to get plenty of beautiful shots downtown before walking the streets to one of our favorite Santa Fe blossom spots. On the way, we passed some beautiful purple wisteria that were in the best spot for glowy photos, before moving on to the lilac blooms we’d specially selected beforehand. There, this pair got even more stunning glow for their portraits, and we ended the session with Caitlin’s red hair aflame in the setting sun.

With Caitlin being a fellow photographer, the pressure was absolutely on for their engagement session, but we think the results were positively stunning! Congratulations on your engagement, you two, and we cannot wait for your wedding next June!
