Looking for inspiration for your romantic spring wedding? This styled wedding at Bishop’s Lodge in beautiful downtown Santa Fe is exactly that. We teamed up with Taylor of Lace & Bow Bridal Events to plan a spring editorial that would help couples in New Mexico see that a romantic and ethereal wedding is possible in a state known for its desert aesthetic.
When we were looking for a wedding venue in Santa Fe, all it took was one tour of the newly remodeled Bishop’s Lodge, and we knew that was it! It features a historic chapel built in the 1800s that made the perfect backdrop for a whimsical and ethereal editorial shoot, with its soft blue and white hues. Using the blue and white of the chapel as inspiration for the color palette, we went with a soft spring garden theme for other elements.
When it came to picking the gown for this spring editorial, Cassandra by The Wild Collective was perfect. It was flowy and ethereal, with bishop sleeves and gorgeous beading. There was a certain Bridgerton wedding feel to the dress that inspired other details throughout the day.
The gorgeous hair and makeup were done by Savannah from Betty Rose, and it complemented Nikki’s dress perfectly.
Romantic Spring Wedding Details
The New Mexico wedding vendor, Devonna with Funky Olive Invitations & Stationery, really created magic for the shoot. She designed the prettiest invitation suite with delicate butterflies, soft pastel flowers, velvet envelopes, and possibly my favorite detail—beautiful wax seals with pressed flowers. She also created some New Mexico-shaped menu cards (above), and divine place cards with a light green ribbon.
The gorgeous powder blue heels and the lace-up heels with silver beading were both sent from Bella Belle Shoes.
Whimsical Spring Tablescape
Once the location was set and we had a gown, we knew we needed the right tablescape items to go with the Farm Table from Bishop’s Lodge, and we found them at Colorado Party Rentals. From the Natural Wood Bentwood Chairs, the Aura Gold Rim Glassware, the Bianca China Collection, and the Velo Gold and Grey Flatware, we were obsessed. The Aurora White Runner and Hidden Garden Oxford Linen Napkins from BBJ La Tavola really tied the natural wood and gold elements together perfectly.
The Spring Wedding Florals
Another New Mexico vendor who created absolute magic for the editorial was Crystal from Floral Elegance. Her florals were the tipping point for this shoot to become all it was meant to be! She used a soft pastel color palette and whimsical flowers to really bring our vision to life.
Using some of the fresh flowers Crystal brought, Heather with Three Baby Birds created the prettiest 2-tier pastel green cake.
The Groom’s Blue Suit
The rich blue suit from Suits Unlimited was the perfect contrast to the soft wedding dress and details from the editorial. The cognac shoes and soft pink necktie complemented the spring theme and tied the outfit together.
The Real Couple
The models, Shawn and Nikki, are a real couple who were about to celebrate their 1 year wedding anniversary! The shoot gave them more photos to celebrate their new chapter in life together, and we were able to photograph a couple who is truly in love.
This team of New Mexico vendors truly went above and beyond to create the dreamiest spring editorial in Santa Fe. It was nothing short of magical, and I hope it inspires your own wedding.
