Our Baby’s Nursery

It’s funny, my favorite color is turquoise or dusty blue, so I started off planning that this nursery would be more gender neutral when it came to colors. However, as I began to find things I loved for our little one’s room, it turned full on girly girl. The first item I found (and it took me a long time to decide which one to get, ask my sister and mom…) was the wall mural. I fell in love with a cluster of beautiful peonies and greenery, and that is what inspired me to paint the accent wall behind it a dusty rose. Putting up this mural was no picnic. They are not easy. However the end result was exactly what I was looking for! I found the pink and grey southwestern style rug at Target (and it is so soft,) and the color theme of dusty pinks and greys started to come together. I have a small obsession with llamas so a feminine design accented with cute llamas and southwestern touches is where we ended up!

My favorite items in the room are all the handmade personal touches given to us for our little one by family and friends. The stunning framed watercolors of baby animals over the changing table/dresser were painted by my sister Jaime. The pillow that sits in the crib was a beautiful dish towel that I found that my mom cut and sewed for me to create a large, comfy pillow. The blanket draped over the gliding chair was made by Brandon’s mom and it is so soft and cozy. The beautiful wooden shelves that hold all her books from her loved ones were handmade with reclaimed wood from my best friend in Florida’s business, Fama Creations. The little horse stuffed animal was crocheted by our dear friend Kelli Barela. And finally, the beautiful pressed flower art that hangs by the window was made by our wedding florist Adri, of the Flower Company.

We are so excited to meet our little one as the final stretch and count down begins! She is already so loved.
