Debbie and Craig were married at the stunning Bishop’s Lodge in Santa Fe surrounded by their loved ones! Their families and friends are spread out around the world, so Debbie and Craig wanted to find a place to celebrate that resonated with what they enjoy as a couple. They both love the outdoors and adventure, and Santa Fe reminded them a bit of home. Looking out at the Sangre de Cristo mountains, Craig was reminded of the African bush; and Debbie felt like she was back at a ranch in the Texas hill country. Debbie and Craig’s wedding was the perfect blend of vintage elegance and personal touches.
Debbie and Craig had so many sweet and heartfelt details they added to their wedding! They worked with Sweet Dates Prints to design a crest for their invitations with special icons that reflected who they are and where they are from, Craig met with his family friends at Jenna Clifford Studio in South Africa to design her gorgeous ring, and Debbie collaborated with AKHL Studio to design her bridesmaids’ and mom’s beautiful custom dresses. Debbie also worked with Angelica’s Custom Tailors to create the most gorgeous robe to wear while getting ready, and tailored her vintage Catherine Rayner wedding dress to perfection for their ceremony! We were in awe at how creative, sweet, and thoughtful these two were!
Craig gave Debbie a card and a small gift for each hour leading up to their first look. When it came time for their first look, they both surprised each other with a gift to wear down the aisle. As their ceremony started, Debbie walked down the aisle to “There Will be Time” by Mumford and Sons and they had live African drums playing along to honor Craig’s heritage. Debbie and Craig wanted to do something memorable so they created a memory box with a bottle of wine from their engagement and asked their bridal party to bring something small to add to the box during the ceremony. They had their officiant take a polaroid of them while standing in front of the audience so they could place that in their box. Debbie and Craig locked their box together and plan to open it on their 10th wedding anniversary.
After their ceremony, guests enjoyed yummy hors d’oeuvres and drinks while listening to Diamond Empire Band. For their main courses, Debbie and Craig were able to meet with the chef at Bishop’s Lodge to incorporate some of their favorite dishes inspired by their favorite restaurants. Debbie and Craig’s delicious wedding cake by The Cake Boutique was a Texas Grapefruit cake recipe that has been used in Debbie’s family for many years. It was such a special touch and ode to her family. Debbie also had a surprise groom’s cake table that showcased a motorcycle trip Craig did from South to North Africa. Our favorite detail was the custom made phone booth guestbook by Signed by S&P, where their guests were able to record voice messages for the couple to listen to and cherish forever!
Debbie and Craig’s wedding will always hold a special place in our hearts. Congratulations to you both! It was such and honor and pleasure to work with you on your special day!
