As Xavier was thanking their guests before everyone dug into their delicious dinner, we had the most wonderful peek not only into their relationship, but into the amusing, kind of adorable way they met: Xavier saw Kelsie on Instagram, and he figured he needed something stronger than a “Hey” to slide into her DMs, so he devised a plan. Pretending like he knew her, he messaged her asking where they had met or who they mutually knew. The answer? They hadn’t and no one, but it worked all the same! With the conversation struck, sparks flew and the rest is history! While we don’t always commend lying to someone you want to build a relationship with… we just can’t deny the innocence and cuteness in his sneaky tactics!
Like all of our COVID couples, this pair was faced with many hardships… it actually became a joke between us and Kelsie regarding how many date change documents are in her file! From Los Poblanos to a stunning Colorado venue, to maybe having the wedding at home, and then an impossibly epic venue in Sedona, we were finally set to actually make this wedding happen! We are so thankful for these two, because while we feel so much sympathy for them in having to change, change again, and keep changing their plans, it really allowed us to thoroughly get to know this couple! And they are hands down such a joy.
From first look to reception, it was easy to see how much they loved each other. Kelsie radiated joy and excitement from the moment we met her at her Airbnb to shoot details and getting ready, and Xavier’s nervous enthusiasm was palpable. They encouraged each other throughout the whole day with a sweet supportiveness that left us smiling simply by watching them interact, and he never failed to carry her gorgeous bouquet or help with her stunning train.
As for the venue… we died. We’re fortunate enough to get to travel for our couples (slowly but surely more and more now that the pandemic has become more manageable), and we’ve always been eager to shoot in Sedona— Tlaquepaque did not disappoint! Every three feet were the most amazing backdrops for portraits, and it was all we could do not to steal Kelsie and Xavier for the whole day! Haha.
Keep scrolling to see all of our favorite shots, the amazingly versatile venue, and their beautiful details! And to the couple: congratulations, Kelsie and Xavier, we absolutely adore you two, and we can’t wait to see how you conquer life together in the years to come!
