Romantic El Dorado Santa Fe Wedding | Caitlin + James

Where do I even begin?!

We knew whatever type of wedding Caitlin would plan would be incredible. Being a wedding photographer herself, she knew exactly what vendors she wanted to work with and the theme she was going to use. Yet we were still completely in awe on her and James’s day when we showed up at the El Dorado that afternoon. Caitlin chose the beautiful color of dusty blue, accented by creams and golds. Her flowers were large garden roses and anemones and touches of Love-in-a-mist flowers with long silk ribbons hanging to the floor. A small heart charm rested under her hands engraved with her mother’s handwriting so that she would be there to walk down the aisle along with Caitlin. Caitlin also wore forget-me-not earrings in memory of her mother, as they handed out the seeds at her mothers funeral.

There wasn’t a dry eye in the house, including ours, when Caitlin and James read their vows and exchanged rings. The El Dorado’s La Capilla de Oro Chapel being the perfect backdrop for them to say “I do”. Guests sipped cocktails in the Agave lounge while we whisked the couple around downtown Santa Fe for photos before their grand entrance. The reception took place on the presidential suite rooftop balcony, where the views blew everyone away. Guests kept telling us how much they loved the scenery and how beautiful the wedding was, and we have to agree! The newlyweds shared their first dance at sunset before the dance floor opened and everyone joined in singing “Don’t Stop Believing.” The night ended perfectly with guests being led to a dance party at Casa Espana, the El dorado’s exclusive night club.

All in all it was such an honor to capture Caitlin and James’s day. We mean it when we say they are the sweetest couple you will ever meet and we know they have so many years of happiness and love ahead of them.
