A St. Louis Wedding at Knotting Hills Farm | Sarah + Lena

Sarah and Lena’s love story is one for the books! Sarah reached out to us last June to see if we could help capture and plan her proposal to her girlfriend, Lena, while on vacation in Santa Fe. After going back and forth on some ideas, Sarah emailed us a couple months later saying we needed to pivot their plans, as she just couldn’t wait a minute longer and proposed to Lena in their home!

These two are so fiercely in love, it’s no wonder they moved so fast paced since the beginning. Sarah and Lena met through Hinge and immediately clicked, quickly deciding to meet in person only a week or two after matching with one another. After meeting at a bar and bonding over a game of darts, Sarah asked Lena out on a second date, to which Lena eagerly accepted by firing finger guns in Sarah’s direction. Sarah and Lena continued to go on countless dates, quickly falling for each other more and more as time passed. Sarah knew Lena was the one for her pretty early on, and her fortune cookie from one of their dates helped her confirm what she already knew. Her fortune read “you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be”.

Sarah decided to propose to Lena on their anniversary. On the morning of their anniversary, Sarah made them some coffee, set up music, and lined the floor with roses for Lena to come home to after running errands. Lena walked in to a beautiful set up with Sarah proposing to her. Lena said yes, and the two of them enjoyed the rest of their day celebrating. Sarah was anxious all day, hoping Lena would propose to her as well, as she had a suspicion something was coming. Dinner rolled around, and Lena still hadn’t proposed to Sarah. She gave up on the idea Lena would propose, and decided to enjoy the rest of their night. While out at dinner, Lena took a few sips of liquid courage to calm her nerves and proposed to Sarah. The rest was history!

We were so incredibly honored to capture this sweet duo’s engagement session in our hometown, and now their big day in their hometown! Sarah and Lena decided to get married in their hometown of St. Louis at the most gorgeous venue, Knotting Hills. Their venue was perfect in every way! It is as enchanting as it is beautiful, leaving you feeling like you were in the midst of a Hallmark movie. The scenery was stunning with picturesque fountains, a beautiful glass observatory, and a dreamy stone staircase. From the moment the day began, it was clear that Sarah and Lena’s connection was something truly special and could be felt by all who were in attendance.

Sarah and Lena enjoyed a private and intimate first look with each other before their ceremony. As the ceremony began, Sarah and Lena had two of their loved ones dance down the aisle to Shania Twain while handing out roses. They had everyone in stitches over their performance! Their ceremony was every bit of sweet, and you could just feel the love in the air. One of the most magical moments came during their epic bubble exit. As they made their way through a sea of shimmering bubbles, the love between them was undeniable. It was a beautiful and playful touch that captured the spirit of their wedding perfectly.

After the ceremony, guests made their way to the reception where they enjoyed drinks, food and music. They danced the night away and had the most delicious late night pretzel snacks! As the night came to a close, guests parted ways with coffee and coffee mug favors in tow. A lovely tribute to Sarah and Lena’s morning ritual they enjoy every day together. Sarah and Lena embraced their adventurous side with a stunning smoke bomb send-off. It was the perfect finale to a day that was as colorful and bold as their love story. Every detail, from the emotional vows to the unforgettable moments on the dance floor, was a testament to the deep bond they share.
