Jessica and Josh were both at a music festival with friends. They accidentally bumped in to each other and normally, you would apologize and keep moving, but Josh was awestruck by this beautiful girl and asked her to dance. The couple made plans to see each other again soon and Jessica found herself driving to Orlando right away to hang out again with this handsome guy. The couple began dating and down the road Josh took Jessica on a vacation to visit his family in PA. While on a hike, Josh asked his mom to take a photo of them at a beautiful overlook. He got down on one knee, and Jess was so shocked and excited, he left her speechless, which prompted his mom to say “Jess say yes!” Of course she said yes!
Jessica contacted me about capturing her engagement session as they had just moved to New Mexico for Josh’s job after getting engaged. They knew their wedding would be out of state but hadn’t started planning quite yet. I asked her if we could meet about me shooting her wedding as well, since I travel quite often for weddings. Upon meeting, we found out that we both grew up traveling the A horse show circuit and while I no longer ride, Jessica is still quite the accomplished equestrian. Her family is from Ocala, where I also have family, and with everything we had in common, we instantly clicked. She asked me to shoot her wedding and I couldn’t have been more excited and honored.
The couple went back and forth trying to figure out where to have their wedding and decided on the unique town of Asheville, North Carolina. It was the perfect meeting point for her family from Florida and his family from Pennsylvania. The venue was the most beautiful resort in the Blue Ridge mountains.
As the wedding day approached rain threatened to ruin the day. It poured on and off all week and on Saturday it stopped just long enough for us to get all the photos we needed. The clouds rolling through the mountains made for the most breathtaking backdrop. Jessica chose french blue and blush as her colors and all of her details just had us swooning. Beautiful peonies and roses were everywhere you turned, rustic and elegant touches complete with a view you couldn’t even have dreamed up. As the ceremony was about to start, the rain decided to come. It came in strong and was blowing sideways and the planners rushed to move everything inside. However, it couldn’t ruin Jessica and Josh’s day as the smiles on their faces were just so contagious and they couldn’t wait to
say “I do.”
Thank you so much Jessica and Josh for inviting us to be a part of your day. It was simply stunning and we wish you both and little Jackson many years of happiness.
