Brittany + Mike | Boulder Wedding at Sunrise Ampitheatre | Colorado Wedding Photographers

Whenever we get to travel for a wedding, it sure is a special treat for us. Seeing new places and shooting in new venues really helps keep the creative juices flowing. Last weekend we traveled to Boulder, CO for Brittany and Mike’s wedding and it truly was an experience.

The couple met at a Super bowl party held by mutual friends and immediately hit it off. Brittany was finishing up PT school in Denver and when she left the state to head home to Iowa, she knew something was missing in her life. She returned to Colorado for a job and the two instantly began their relationship. Mike, a professional skier, taught Brittany to ski and when he was injured skiing she was there to nurse him back to health as his Physical Therapist. The two learned how to climb together and scaled mountains with their sweet pup Boone in tow. Mike proposed to Brittany on a ski trip in Whistler, and the wedding planning began.

It was only fitting for this adventurous couple to be married amongst the Boulder mountains at the beautiful Sunrise Ampitheatre. Their loved ones (and of course Boone) looked on as these two read their sentimental vows to each other with rain clouds in the distance. Before we headed down the mountain for photos at Chautauqua Park, Brittany and Mike asked to make a pitstop to get photos of them bouldering a mountain at a trail they frequented together. Coolest couple award? We think yes!

The evening commenced with yummy tacos from Illegal Petes and a cookie and donut bar at one of the couple’s favorite breweries, Sanitas Brewery. Wildflowers decorated the tables as guests sipped signature cocktails and beer from mason jars and played corn hole. An 80s cover band, The Goonies, kept the dance floor full all night as they sang throwbacks like Super Freak and 99 Red Balloons.

Thank you SO MUCH Brittany and Mike for trusting us to travel all the way from Albuquerque to capture your day. We had the best time and we know you have so many adventures to come.
