When Jodi was preparing for an interview to return to a company she had previously worked for, she had no idea she’d be meeting the future love of her life. Similarly, Shashank didn’t even know he’d be conducting Jodi’s interview that day, as his boss forgot his computer at home and Shashank had to fill in last minute. He barely referenced the interview questions however, being more interested in Jodi’s general hobbies and love of running. She enjoyed the conversation, albeit she was slightly confused, and she was worried about getting the job. When she began working there again, they became fast friends, even running and training for races together.
Knowing her adoration of fall, Shashank took Jodi to a farm in Santa Rosa, CA in October to go apple picking. As Jodi turned to hand him an apple, Shashank turned to hand her a ring! Call us autumn-obsessed girls biased, but we think that’s adorable!
The vision for their wedding was rustic farm with elements of the southwest, as Jodi’s from New Mexico and Shashank is from Arizona. Their ceremony and reception took place at Old Town Farm, of course in the beautiful fall, when the venue really shows off its beauty.
Jodi carried a stunning bouquet full of eucalyptus and peachy ranunculus, which matched the Jenny Yoo bridesmaid dresses perfectly. We were also obsessed with Jodi’s BHLDN gown, with its low v-neck front and stunning illusion lace.
During the speeches, Jodi’s father gave one that had the room in tears. As he told the story of how Jodi’s always been strong-willed and dedicated to self-teaching herself, he cited the example of how determined to ride her bike without training wheels, and began to get choked up in the process.
We also had to giggle at the photobombing horse that Jodi and Shashank were posing with. We love the white barn doors, so we of course had to take pictures in front of it, and as we set them up, the horse poked his head out the window and tried to eat Shashank’s boutonniere! It definitely gave us all a good laugh!
We wish these two the absolute best in the many years to come! Congratulations!
