Nathan and Monica went to high school together but their paths rarely crossed as they ran in different friend groups. When senior prom approached, neither Nathan or Monica had dates, so a mutual friend suggested they go together. Well that night sparks flew, as they danced the evening away under the stars.
Being Nathan and Monica are both planners, they started planning their wedding after Nathan’s beautiful proposal at their church of St. Jude. They wanted their wedding to be the day of their dreams and the day they always envisioned so they decided on a date 2 years away, 10/10/20, which also gave Nathan time to finish pharmacy school. When I met Nathan and Monica, I knew they were going to be such a wonderful couple to work with and I was so excited that they booked me so far in advance.
Of course as with every other 2020 wedding, COVID threw a major wrench in their plans. The venue they booked so long ago, was no longer going to be able to host their day, and the couple was crushed. They however refused to wait another minute not being married and came up with a plan B or maybe it was C or D, because you know, 2020. Still following the state restriction guidelines, Nathan and Monica found some loopholes and had their ceremony at the church Nathan proposed, St. Jude. Their closest family and friends all attended, socially distanced of course, and witnessed these two lovebirds say I do, Monica giggling with joy the entire time.
For their reception, they opted for the beautiful and private garden pavilion at El Pinto, and because it was at a restaurant, they were still able to have 40 guests. We loved the touches of vibrant fall colors and dia de los muertos accents, nodding towards the approaching holiday. However our most favorite part of the entire wedding was that Nathan and Monica opted to have a day after shoot! They booked their honeymoon night at Los Poblanos and we met them there the following evening to take some of the most stunning of portraits amongst the changing trees.
We want to give a HUGE congratulations to this sweet couple. We feel so lucky to have met you and know our paths will continue to cross in the future!
