We loved hearing how Heather and Angelo met. Heather was vacationing in the Bahamas, and on her final night there, she went to a restaurant with friends. She met the dashing owner of the restaurant, Angelo, and it was simply love at first sight! Falling in love in paradise is definitely something out of a movie, right? After Heather came home to New Mexico, she and Angelo continued to talk and visit with each other. Heather decided to make the move to the Bahamas to be with the man of her dreams— and the rest is history!
Due to COVID and restrictions on travel in the Caribbean, the couple moved to New Mexico to be with family. It hasn’t been an easy year for them— or any of our wedding industry professionals— as Santa Fe has some of the strictest restrictions on weddings. So to keep our creative juices flowing, we wedding vendors have been collaborating on inspirational shoots more than usual!
A new venue opened in Santa Fe, and Ashley of A Beautiful Theme and I knew we had to do a shoot there! We made sure to showcase the natural beauty of New Mexico with a boho chic vibe, and it felt like the perfect fit for the venue. Our main color palette was inspired by the tassels used on the escort display and the quickly approaching fall weather. Wanting to incorporate something a little more New Mexico that matched the stunning adobe of the venue, pampas grass was incorporated for a desert vibe. If you are having a boho wedding, you must have pampas grass, and boy, did we take that seriously!
Incorporating a stylish lounge full of striking rich wooden furniture and velvet pillows, it was the perfect place to lounge with a drink from the bar. The couple dined on sushi and champagne from Walter Burke Catering before indulging in wedding cake, which they said they didn’t get to have on their actual wedding day! The full pampas arch where the couple stood under to say I do was a showstopper, and it blended together perfectly with the fall palette. wooden benches were incorporated into the ceremony to add to the rustic feel.
The brand new venue, full pampas arch, and all the little details created a perfect southwestern boho wedding!
