Brett & Candy | A La Fonda Intimate New Year’s Eve Wedding | Santa Fe Wedding Photographers

This sweet pair reached out a couple months ago to book us for their intimate ceremony at La Fonda, and we were more than happy to make it official! As December 31st drew closer and closer, however, we hadn’t heard anything and weren’t sure if we were still shooting it, or if the wedding was even still happening! With the date fast approaching, we received a call from Candy that it was, in fact, still set to proceed, so we excitedly made plans for our New Years evening.

Candy was— without a single doubt— the embodiment of a Maura Jane Bride. Her shoes were Kate Spade, she had all of her and her fiance’s details not only laid out, but organized and separated for us, and while being a winter wedding, her bouquet colors were extra delicate and ultra feminine. It was a quickly planned wedding with only immediate family in attendance, but Candy didn’t spare a single detail, and we were dying over her stunning wedding gown: the lace sleeves, the elegant buttons dancing down the back, just the perfect amount of Swish Factor... It was all simply gorgeous!

For the couple’s portraits, we stole the pair away from their family and went on a small walking tour of downtown Santa Fe. With most of the area being blocked off for the oncoming fireworks show to bring in 2021, there were limited cars, which gave us the perfect opportunity for beautiful wide photos in front of the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi. We also grabbed pictures in a nearby alley, full of cow-skulls and ristras, exactly the southwestern theme this couple was hoping to capture before returning to their home out-of-state.

The couple then ended the night with photos on their amazing balcony, overlooking the lavender Sangre de Cristos, followed by their intimate ceremony. With only Brett’s three children and son-in-law in attendance, they said their “I do”s in front of a pampas grass-covered fireplace, and then cut their yummy cake.

We had such an amazing time with these two, as they were so upbeat, fun, and sweet. We wish them the utmost happiness not only for this New Year— but in all their years to come!
