We first met Sarah and Lance back in 2019 for their incredibly glowy, desert-themed engagement session (which you can view here), back when they were supposed to be married in April of 2020… And in the vein of this past year’s events— we all know that that was unable to happen. After postponing their wedding twice, though, this couple persevered, still exchanged their vows in the Land of Enchantment, and even invented a super unique, clever way to have all of their close friends and family here for it, in spite of local limitations… which were officially lifted a couple days before their union, but we still applaud them for their ingenuity!
Sarah and Lance’s pandemic-proof plan was to have their ceremony on Friday ay Hotel Parq Central, which, due to the hotel/restaurant’s limitations, would allow them to have 50 guests. They were able to have their full bridal party, then, and they could then proceed with their family and friends. The beautiful arch that they said their “I do’s” under was made by Sarah’s father, and their adorable doggo, Oliver, couldn’t physically be there, but was included through little details, like signs. Hotel Parq Central never disappoints when it comes to photo-op spots, and we can’t get over their gorgeous, glow-filled couple’s portraits! We also absolutely loved her florals, as we’ve been dying to shoot more blooms with vibrant pops of color, and her bridesmaids’ dresses were different for us as well: a muted, light sage green, and we are so here for it! They ended the night by ordering Dion’s (yum!) and sharing a meal with their closest friends.
Then, on Saturday, they commenced their Day Two activities: a revolving reception. When we first received the email from Sarah explaining this idea, we thought, “Wow! What a cool way to adapt to the current circumstances!” To break it down, the day started with brunch with the couple’s bridal party. Then, the first hour and a half of our camera coverage was spent with them having an intimate lunch and visiting time with Lance’s family. Then, Sarah’s amazing bridesmaids re-appeared to help the pair clear the dining tables, carefully reset the beautiful details, and help the newlyweds de-stress. As Sarah’s side arrived for the next hour and a half, they had dinner, her dad did a toast, and
they admired the incredible wedding quilt her grandma specially made for them. Both parties were served delicious slices of various pies from The Range. Oliver was also included in the reception details— as such a good boy should be!— and again appeared in signs, plus on coozies they were giving out. The day then ended with a few more couple’s portraits to show off their jaw-dropping Airbnb in the Sandia Foothills, and after a couple years and a lot of stress, it was finally done!
We had a great time rolling with the punches with these two upbeat cuties, and we’re so happy that they finally were able to have their wedding! Congratulations, Sarah and Lance (and Oliver), and we wish you two the absolute best in what’s sure to be years, and years, and years of happiness.
