Holley and Cooper met at their second year at Texas Tech University School of Law. He asked to borrow her notes, which sparked a friendship between the two that lasted the duration of their time at college. After graduating, they both got jobs in Lubbock, TX and officially began dating. With her being from Baird, TX and Cooper hailing from Lovington, NM, they both still reside in Lubbock, where they’re currently building their first home.
The pair dated for two and a half years before Cooper asked Holley’s dad for his blessing in December of 2019. With her family teasing him relentlessly, asking when he was going to propose, he finally made a plan to pop the question during a trip in March of 2020… but with the pandemic beginning, they had to cancel. A couple months later, they bought a golden retriever puppy (whom you NEED to see by clicking here), and a couple months after that, he told Holley there would be an important dinner with one of his clients after work, so she needed to be dressed and ready. She found it strange that he was rushing her so much when he got home, as based off the time he had told her they needed to leave by, she was actually running early. But when she was finally ready, he brought her to their backyard, saying he had gotten their fur baby, Sunny, a new toy that she needed to see. It was then that Sunny came running up to her mom with a sign that said, “Marry Dad?” and when she turned around, Cooper had taken a knee!
While Sunny wasn’t quite as involved during the couple’s big day, she was still featured on all of their koozies. Other personal touches included a white rose for grandparents on both sides who couldn’t attend, along with Holley buying her bridesmaids matching Gucci shoes, and another super cool element was that they ended the night with a firework show!
We loved how these two opposites balanced each other out, and we wish them abounding joy in all their years to come!
