Katherine and James were set up for their first date. Luckily, it was a double date, with the two who would become the maid of honor and a groomsman. Katherine and James were invited ice skating with their friends and the two ended up really hitting it off.
At the time he lived in California and she lived on the east coast finishing up law school. They were making a long distance relationship work and she came out to visit him. They took a scenic road trip and decided to stop in Santa Barbara. James was all ready to propose on the beach, when Katherine changed the plan and asked to see the mission instead. James changed the plan to propose later in the week after hiking to the top of a mountain. All ready to go, they were surprised by a group of lots of boy scouts. Throwing a wrench in his plans AGAIN! So they hiked back down and found a scenic overlook. He decided no more waiting. And right there, overlooking the whole city, James FINALLY got down on one knee and Katherine said yes!
After getting engaged these two settled on the always stunning Los Poblanos for their big day. We joined them on a breezy summer day for their engagement photos and loved getting to know them.
Katherine, who always wears black to work as an attorney, decided to take a 180 wearing white, and take advantage of her fashion freedom by pairing it with vivid pink heels, which we LOVED. James dressed to match wearing a tie with hints of pink to coordinate with his lady.
We wandered the beautiful property with the two as Katherine giggled the whole time excited at the peacocks, and James’s face lit up when the Alpacas made their appearance.
We’re so excited for these two to tie the knot in October!
