Veronica and I met when she reached out to me about a mentorship. She was really interested in being a wedding photographer and wanted to see if she could tag along with me at a wedding. Fast forward a couple years later and Veronica has become a close friend and one of our second shooters. We are so fond of this sweet New Mexican girl and were so excited to have her join our team.
Veronica and Mike started dating in high school. Upon graduation they went their separate ways. Fate brought this sweet duo back together and they have been together since. One day, Mike called me and let me know he planned to propose to Veronica at Tamaya. He had gotten a horse drawn carriage and was going to take her on a ride through the bosque before he popped the question. He asked if I could come take photos. I couldn’t have been more excited and honored! As the carriage pulled up Veronica’s face was just beaming. It truly is such an incredible moment to see one of your friends get engaged.
For their engagement session, Veronica wanted to incorporate New Mexico’s stunning landscape. We decided to drive out to San Ysidaro near the Ojito Wilderness to capture the beautiful painterly cliffs. This was the second time we had rescheduled due to weather, and as we drove out there the weather threatened to ruin the photos again. Once there, poor Veronicas dress zipper broke, so we resorted to safety pins and angles to keep it hidden. We laughed about our bad luck and this couple couldn’t have been more laid back and relaxed about all the obstacles thrown our way. The photos ended up being beautiful! Scroll down to see some of our favorites!
I can not wait till their beautiful August wedding in Santa fe, where I get to capture and see these lovebirds say I do.
